چکیده

Raman spectroscopy is a powerful technique that enables fingerprinting of materials, molecules, and chemical environments by probing vibrational resonances. In many applications, the desired signals are masked fluorescence, either from molecular system being studied, or adjacent metallic nanostructures. Here, it shown wavelength-modulated provides way to significantly reduce strength fluorescence background, thereby allowing be clearly recorded. This approach made use explore scattering in context strong coupling, an area has thus far been problematic visualise. Specifically, coupling between modes polymer two types confined light field, fundamental mode metal-clad microcavity, surface-plasmon thin metal film looked at. While clear advantages using found, these results on inconclusive, highlight need for more work this exciting topic area.

Signatures of Vibrational Strong Coupling in Raman Scattering

We have analyzed theoretically how the emergence of collective strong coupling between vibrational excitations and confined cavity modes affects Raman scattering processes. This work was motivated by recent experiments (Shalabney et al. Angew. Chem., Int. Ed. 2015, 54, 7971) that reported enhancements of up to 3 orders of magnitude in the Raman signal. By using different models within linear re...

Vibrational coupling in plasmonic molecules.

Plasmon hybridization theory, inspired by molecular orbital theory, has been extremely successful in describing the near-field coupling in clusters of plasmonic nanoparticles, also known as plasmonic molecules. However, the vibrational modes of plasmonic molecules have been virtually unexplored. By designing precisely configured plasmonic molecules of varying complexity and probing them at the ...

Probing polar molecules with high harmonic spectroscopy.

We bring the methodology of orienting polar molecules together with the phase sensitivity of high harmonic spectroscopy to experimentally compare the phase difference of attosecond bursts of radiation emitted upon electron recollision from different ends of a polar molecule. This phase difference has an impact on harmonics from aligned polar molecules, suppressing emission from the molecules pa...

Exploiting Vibrational Strong Coupling to Make an Optical Parametric Oscillator Out of a Raman Laser.

When the collective coupling of the rovibrational states in organic molecules and confined electromagnetic modes is sufficiently strong, the system enters into vibrational strong coupling, leading to the formation of hybrid light-matter quasiparticles. In this Letter, we demonstrate theoretically how this hybridization in combination with stimulated Raman scattering can be utilized to widen the...

Vibrational signature of double-end-linked molecules at Au nanojunctions probed by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy.

In the past decade, a lot of efforts have been made to look for new materials and develop new methods for molecular electronic devices. Metal/molecule/metal junctions have been widely used as a model system for discovering new devices and studying the working principle of the molecular devices. Up to date, molecular rectifiers, wires, and switches have been reported on the basis of the above st...
